The 4th annual Schooner Fall Classic
was a huge success!
Letter From Your Host, Tricia Covel
I always look forward to the fall in Oklahoma. It's just a beautiful time of year and the best time for some collegiate golf in our state! We were thrilled to welcome you all to "The Dish" College-Am and the fourth annual Schooner Fall Classic featuring 12 of the most exciting women's collegiate teams in the country.
The tournament took place at Belmar Golf Club in Norman and continues to be the only college tournament in our state that benefits a nonprofit cause. The Classic is a partnership with OU Women’s Golf and fulfills my desire to support young women and their passion for the game so many of us love. Schooner Fall Classic is different than other tournaments as we make a point to introduce each team to our community work at The Toby Keith Foundation’s OK Kids Korral. The players and coaches meet families who are battling cancer. They see, firsthand, that you can use your talent to benefit others.
Schooner Fall Classic began with “The Dish”, an 18-hole College-Am. Teams were made up of three amateurs who were paired with three collegiate players. That evening, we hosted a welcome reception full of food, fun and entertainment. The 54-hole collegiate stroke play got underway on Saturday and continued until Monday.
Proceeds from the tournament benefited the Toby Keith Foundation as they enter their third year of helping children battling cancer. For more information on the tournament, Belmar Golf Club or The Toby Keith Foundation, visit www.schoonerfallclassic.com.
Thank you for supporting our women athletes and emphasizing the spirit of giving.
